Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The central government promised to complete the construction of agriculture irrigation infrastructure in South Kalimantan, says a legislator.


"The Directorate General of Water Resources of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) promised that when we consulted them last week," said Secretary of Commission III of the South Kalimantan Legislative Council (DPRD) Riswandi here on Friday.

He claimed many issues were discussed during the meeting. "Actually, many of the problems of irrigation in South Kalimantan were talked about in the Directorate General of Water Resources, but they only promised to complete the Pitap dam, Polder Alabio, and Batang Alai dam," he said.

In addition, the central government through the Directorate General of Water Resources seriously concerned about the plan to construct Riam Kiwa dam in Banjar district to the provision of water resources.

"But the Riam Kiwa dam as an effort to overcome the problems of water resources is still a long-term program," said three periods member of council.

Commission III overseeing development and infrastructure expects the central government to keep promises, so that the handling of the three agricultural irrigation infrastructure in Balangan, North Hulu Sungai, and Central Hulu Sungai be completed and truly complete.

On the plan of Pipitak Jaya dam in Tapin district, he said, the Directorate General declared it was also a concern of the central government.

Therefore, he said quoting the Directorate General, the construction plan of Pipitak Jaya entered the National Strategic Programme (PSN) of President Joko Widodo.
