Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Mayor Ibnu Sina is trying to make the city greener by adding three new green open spaces (RTHs) in 2024.
 
Ibnu Sina, accompanied by his wife Siti Wasilah, officiated one of the new open green space, Kemiri RTH in the neighborhood of Sungai Andai, North Banjarmasin, Thursday.

The Mayor also inaugurated Taman Patih Masih RTH, which is under the HKSN Bridge in West Banjarmasin, and the Jahri Saleh Park RTH, also in North Banjarmasin. At the same time he symbolically handed over three-wheeled vehicle to transport rubbish.

The inauguration of the open green spaces was attended by the City Secretary Ikhsan Budiman, Head of Environent Office Alive Yoesfah Love, sub-district heads and the local community.
 
Ibnu Sina said that the open green space in Sungai Andai was a series of efforts made by the city government to provide public space to be enjoyed by residents.

"Kemiri Park is one of a series of our efforts to present public space that people can use for interaction, recreation, and education. We hope that this park to become a comfortable place for the people of Banjarmasin," he pointed out.

The variuous type of plants that need to be preserved, including Emas Intan (Diamond Gold) tree which is a typical plant in Kampung Biuku, he expected to be a means of education for the community.
 
The Mayor said that Kemiri Park is one of the city government efforts to fulfill its commitment to developing open green spaces. 
 
"The total open green space we have fulfill is 3.1 percent of the commitment of 38 hectares," he expounded.
 
Thus, he sportlighted the importance of supervision and active role of the community in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the parks.
 
"We will install CCTV as surveillance, but the most important thing is participation and supervision from the community," he said.
