Gina Astuti, a young woman from Balangan Regency who represented South Kalimantan, won the first ranking as an outstanding young leader at the national level in 2023 whihc is organized by Youth and Sports Ministry (Kemenpora).
Gina here on Monday said to ANTARA that she previously represented South Kalimantan in the National Young Leader Cadre Education (PKPMN) after quite a long selection process, from filing, CAT test, and interview.
After being selected as the 100 best, she and other participants were educated by Kemenpora and National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) to become quality leaders. In the educational process, they were given a number of assisments, such as essays, papers, creative video, and various individual assisgments which were then presented.
“Perhaps these became parts of assessment in addition of the main assessment which included organizational history and youth leadership activity progress so far,” said Gina at the time before the awarding.
She said this award could be a good example, especially for youth in South Kalimantan that they are also able to compete at the national level.
Gina hopes that the Provincial Government of South Kalimantan to further maximize the role and potential of young people in the region to encourage creativity to make them more productive and making achievements.
Meanwhile, Assistant Deputy for Youth Leadership of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Subroto said that the ministry's target for the youth is increase in IPP (Youth Development Index) that in 2024 it is hoped to reach a score of 56-60 from various existing indicators.
The Ministry also hopes that after the implementation of the educatio program the participants will disseminate the knwledge they have gained to develop young people with character in their respective areas.
"We hope that after completing the activity it won't be just paper pride. We have tried maximally this year to optimize and bring experts to provide learning, including BPKP, this also a new things, as well as strategic leadership experts and from KPK," he said.
