Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Vice Regent of Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan, H Sukamta asserted the regency took measures to cut travel budgets by 40 percent as austerity measures.

"Only critical rated travelling we accomodate the budget, otherwise we will not," said Vice Regent H Sukamta in Pelaihari, Tuesday (30/8).

According to him, the policy is taken because of the delay in the disbursement of the General Allocation Fund (DAU) of the Ministry of Finance.

"With travel budgets cuts, of course we can save Tanah Laut district budget," he said.

He explained that not only official travel budget, but other activities such as eating and drinking as well as office stationery the purchase also trimmed. To that end, he asks, all work units (SKPD) in the district to comply with the policy, so that the development is keeping on with expectations.

"We remain hopeful DAU for fourth quarter amounted to Rp72 billion to be disbursed by the central government, so that the payment of salaries of state civil officials in the scope of Tanah Laut run normally," he said.
