Three vocational colleges in South and Central Kalimantan formed a consortium for strengthening partnership ecosystem program to develop regional potential based innovation.
The program with a slogan of "Kayuh baimbai human vocation for an advanced and prosperous Indonesia" led by Banjarmasin State Polytechnic (Poliban) with Tanah Laut State Polytechnic and Sampit Polytechnic as members officially kicked off at Rattan in Hotel, Banjarmasin, Thursday (October 5, 2023).
It was attended by acting Director of Partnership and Harmonzation of Business and Industrial World of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Uuf Brajawidagda.
Also present a number of partners, Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) from the two provinces, Education Office of the two provinces, Head of South Kalimantan Research and Innovation Agency (Brida) Muhammad Amin, representatives of vocational colleges in South Kalimantan, mass media leadership, including Chairman of South Kalimantan PWI Zainal Helmi.
Director of Poliban Joni Riadi expressed his gratitude to all partners who suppport the program. He invited other vocational people, such as polytechnics, vocational schools, courses and training institutions (LKP), as well as local government, Kadin, communities, and media to get involvved in the program to advance South and Central Kalimantan.
This is a program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology through Directorate General of Vocational Education with funding from the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) of the Ministy of Finance.
The program is a grand design for developing innovation in the region over a period of three years referring to potential and excellence, as well as regional development priority agendas.

It is targeted in the first year of program to produce policy paper containing work force planning and innovation planning.
In the second and third year focus on program outputs implementing innovation planning made in the previous year through network of partnership to produce innovation.
Acting Director of Partnership and Harmonzation of Business and Industrial World Uuf Brajawidagda commended vocational colleges in South and Central Kalimantan who have a high commitment to making the program successful as expected.
"All parties always use the word demand driven in the development of vocational education, but the fact is until now there is no integrated data regarding human resources needs in industry and regions," he pointed out.
Through this program the ministry expects that the vocational education to commence to knit together and form partnership ecosystem in the region.
"This program is for the progress and welfare of South and Central Kalimantan themselves," said Uuf.
Representing the provincial government of South Kalimantan, Head of Brida Muhammad Amin said that the provincial government really support this program because it helps the government to develop regional innovation potential through various research.
