Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of the Banjarmasin Human Settlements and Housing Agency A Fanani Syaifuddin revealed it's hard to find an investor to build a low-cost apartment complex (rusunawa) for reducing slum.

"It's hard looking for an investor who wants to build rusunawa in our area, maybe they think the benefits have not been promising," he said on Wednesday.

Building rusunawa with vertical system requires a very large fund, far away than to build residential housing. "So no developer of housing in our area dare to do so, according to them," he said.

In addition, marketing is also considered not possible, while many simple type of housing at this time, especially in suburban areas, sold with a more affordable price.

According to him, it is time for residential development in this area to do the vertical system, when the land is started to narrow.

"If not stop housing construction system which opens catchment area is indeed cause quite serious impact," said Fanani.

Therefore, he said, the city government will continue programs for the development of rusunawa in densely populated areas.

"The plan in the future we will build rusunawa in Muara Kelayan. The release of land continue to be pursued. Rusunawa in Banjarmasin developed to remove the impression of dense and seedy," said Fanani.

According to him, the rusunawa benefits already being felt well by the public, especially those who lived in three rusunawas at Pekauman, Gang Ganda Magfirah, South Banjarmasin.
