Head of South Hulu Sungai Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Kusairi informed that seven sub-districts in the district have been affected by forest and land fires this week.

"We can't confirm the total area yet, the hotspots this week scattered in the sub-districts of Daha Barat, Daha Utara, Daha Selatan, Kalumpang, Telaga Langsat, Simpur and Sungai Raya," he said, Monday.

On Saturday (29/7), he said, the agency had tackled forest and land fires that broke in Badaun Village, Daha Barat Sub-district, at around 18.10 WITA and was put out abut an hour later around 19.15 WITA (Central Indonesia Time Zone).

Here about 1.5 hectares of peat scrubland burned on the upper surface.

The fire spread quickly but was successfully extinguished, The extinguishing involved the Emergency Preparedness and Response Team (TKTD) of PT Subur Agro Makmur (SAM),  TNI, Polri, sub-district task force, Tagana, fire brigade, PMI, BPK/PMK, and Fire Care Community (MPA).

Meanwhile, based on the South Kalimantan Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), 73 hotspots were detected in HSS on Sunday (July 30, 2023).

The hotspots are spread acroos four sub-district, namely Daha Barat, Daha Selatan, Daha Utara, and Kalumpang.
