Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Deputy Governor Rudy Resnawan said South Kalimantan is not only known as a province rich in natural resources but also as a province with 2,000 mosques.
Rudy here on Friday said South Kalimantan known as a religious area with the development of places of worship growing quite rapidly. Thus, he added, this time almost every village in the province has one to two mosques and a langgar or mushalla (the two are the name for small place of worship).
According to Rudy, the rapid growth of these religious sites, is as evidence that development of religion is also quite good, which is characterized by equitable development of places of worship.
"On average villages there are one to two mosques, means the construction of mosque is quite prevalent in South Kalimantan," he said.
He said the number of mosques in South Kalimantan has now reached about 2,300 mosques and 7,000 langgar or mushalla. "While the number of village as many as 1,900, meaning an average of every village had one to two mosques and three to five langgar or mushalla," he said.
However, Deputy Governor suggested, people to be careful in building the mosque, not to due to an error, the building was forced to be dismantled, so that it can add to the cost of construction.
He hoped that the rapid construction of mosques and this small mosque, should also be balanced with maximum utilization, so that the building can provide the greatest benefit in social life. Residents are asked to prosper the mosque to hold religious and social activities.
"As the function of the mosque as a means of worship also became the center of activity of Muslims," ​​he said.
Earlier, Vice Governor of South Kalimantan implemented Safari Ramadhan to North Hulu Sungai (HSU), which was also attended by Vice Regent Husairi Abdi and district officials.
