Police personnel deployed to secure implementation of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai District, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, conducted the Komodo Operation 2023 Tactical Floor Game (TFG).
"We hope that through the (TFG) drill today, all personnel can understand their duties," National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated after attending the TFG at the hall of the Regional Secretariat of the West Manggarai District Government here on Thursday.
“(It is expected that they can also understand) how to coordinate with other task forces and communicate after receiving information and directives from their commanders in the field or command center,” he remarked.
A total of eight security task forces were involved in the Komodo Operation 2023 Tactical Floor Game (TFG), including the pre-emptive; the preventive; the action; the public relations; and the anti-terror task forces.
Other task forces were the law enforcement (Gakkum); the operational support (Banops); as well as the escorting, route, patrol, and parking (Walrolakir) task forces.
The national police chief stated that the drill was part of the preparations of the security operation for the summit to be jointly conducted with the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI).
He said that implementation of the TFG also discussed several issues related to the tasks of each deployed task force. Hence, the drill was expected to provide examples to the personnel on ways to solve issues.
"(Also) how to act and how to coordinate with other task forces and with (our) TNI colleagues in Ring 1 (of the security operation)," he elaborated.
Prabowo spoke of joint TFG implementation to be conducted along with the TNI personnel to further drill the coordination between the task forces.
He expected that during the D-day of the summit, scheduled to take place from May 9 to May 11, 2023, all members would be able to communicate well with their fellow colleagues both in the field and at the command center according to directives given during the TFG.
The National Police plans to deploy a joint team, comprising a total of 2,627 personnel drawn from the National Police Headquarters, NTT Regional Police, and West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, to secure the summit.
