The government of South Kalimantan Province allots mosquito nets to malaria case areas to reduce the disease from transmitting, Head of Health Office dr Diauddin informed.

He said here on Friday there are still three areas in the province not safe from malaria, namely Tanah Bumbu District, Kotabaru District, and Balangan District.

The Governor of South Kalimantan H Sahbirin Noor, he said, is paying special attention to these three districts to be taken seriously so that malaria cases do not spread.

To ensure people in the three areas are safe, especially from trasmission of virus from female Anopheles mosquito, the government provides mosquito net assistance.

Technical guidance is also provided so that the handling of malaria cases is carried out in directed manner, including checking blood of malaria patients.

According to him, nature condition are very supportive breeding of malaria mosqiotoes, one of which is in the forest. 
 
For this reason, he appealed to the community and workers in the forest to coordinate with health service such as community health centers (puskesmas) and local Health Office.
 
He also suggested people who are in the forest to protect themselves when sleeping with mosquito nets.
 
To this day, Diauddin said, there are 53 cases of malaria in South Kalimantan, 12 of which are in Balangan.
 
He stated that South Kalimantan keeps striving to eliminate transmission of malaria to support the national malaria free program in 2030.
