Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Development exhibition Saijaan Expo in Kotabaru recorded a transaction valued at Rp3.5 billion, up about 51 percent from a year earlier.


Head of Kotabaru Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Agency H Zainal Atifin here on Friday said that the value of transactions in the exhibition in 2015 was Rp2.3 billion, but this year it rose about 51 percent to Rp 3.5 billion.

"At first 485 participants participated in the exhibition, but then increased to 505 participants from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), culinary, local work unit, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), regional owned enterprises (BUMD), private and vertical institution, as well as others," he said ,

The largest transactions occurred in the group of four-wheels and two wheels vehicle businessmen with a value of about Rp1 billion, culinary groups around Rp1 billion, SME groups and other Rp1.5 billion.

Zainal said the agency initially only target of around Rp2.5 billion, assuming the number of 485 participants. However the fact was enthusiastic came from government offices and businesses to follow was big enough, make the realization over the target.

"In the future, the government plans to package development exhibition better, with the involvement of a third party, the event organizer (EO)," he said.

In addition to promoting the development results and all the potential of the region, it can promote tourism sector through EO.

"God willing, this moment we will convey to the public earlier or six months prior to its implementation, so many businesses participating in the exhibition later," he explained.
