Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Brigadier General Erwin Triwanto asking mobile brigade (Brimob) personnel to not involve in narcotics, psychotropic and illegal drug (narkoba).

"Stay away and do not get involved with drugs either as users or especially as dealers," said Police Chief (Kapolda) during a visit to the headquarters of Brimob in Banjarbaru, Thursday.

He said the number of people involved in drugs in Indonesia reached 4.2 million, while transactions per year reach Rp75 trillion, equivalent to Police budget.

"The number of people who do drugs make us concerned, let alone the transaction generates enormous money and hurt the country, so it must be fought," he said.

He said that Brimob personnel as the elite force within the police should be able to maintain the attitude and behavior with no involvement in abuse of illicit goods.

He insisted that the main task police is to create security and order, to serve, to protect the people, so do not do anything counterproductive.

"Do not engage in counterproductive actions, including on use and even to distribute or up to be the protector of the drug dealers," he said.
