Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Bank Indonesia Representative of South Kalimantan Harymurthy Gunawan said the province's economy positively grows at 4.14 percent in the fourth quarter 2015, an increase compared to previous quarter.
According to Hary, the increase in South Kalimantan economic growth in the fourth quarter driven by increase of investment activity and is seen as the positive outlook for the economy.
"The growth is reflected in the increasing growth of the construction sector, relatively good domestic demand, helped boost the industrial sector, trade, hotels and restaurants, as well as transport and communications," he said in Banjarmasin on Monday.
Nevertheless, he said, on the other hand, mining and agriculture sector returned to slowly grew due to a continued decline in economic growth of China and the price of coal.
Slowing agricultural sector since the peak of the positive effects of El Nino which took place in the third quarter 2015 and recently entered the growing season in the fourth quarter, 2015.
Overall, he said, in 2015 South Kalimantan's economy grew 3.84 percent, lower than the growth in 2014 by 4.85 percent.
In terms of inflation, the annual inflation movements in South Kalimantan at the end of the fourth quarter declined from the previous quarter.
The annual inflation rate was recorded at 5.14 percent in quarterly report, a significant decline from the third quarter of 2015 amounted to 7.03 percent and the inflation rate in 2014 at 7.28 percent.
