Amuntai, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Nearly half of the villages in North Hulu Sungai (HSU) still hold the status of underdeveloped villages that need development assistance, particularly rural infrastructure facilities.


Head of HSU Development Planning Board (Bappeda) Fajeri Ripani in Amuntai on Monday said as many as 103 villages out of 214 villages in the district still underdeveloped.

"The villages are generally still lagging badly in need of development and improvement of infrastructure, especially roads," said Fajeri.

HSU government, Fajeri said, managed to increase the budget proposals of Special Allocation Fund (DAK) for the construction of infrastructure in 2016 between Rp150 billion to Rp170 billion, whereas the previous year was only about Rp80 billion.

In addition, he said, the Ministry of Rural, Underdeveloped Rural Development and Transmigration also allocated assistance with the indicative ceiling budget amounting to Rp7.6 billion.

"Help is for the procurement of medical equipment, establishment of markets, home industry, superior product development, pier construction, agricultural equipment and training aid, the of procurement of a television, a satellite dish and solar power modules for remote areas," he explained.

Meanwhile, in order to accelerate development in the underdeveloped villages through the Ministry of Rural program, KPDT and Transmigration has also been mapped area of ??underdeveloped villages in Sungai Tabukan.

"Budgeting is done by sharing between the central government, provincial and local government. So, when the project needs huge funds, it will use the funds from the center," he said.

However, Fajeri acknowledged, based on information from Bappeda nor BPMPD progress development is unknown if any village able to pull off underdeveloped status.
