Balangan, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Balangan Agriculture, Food Crops, Horticulture, Fisheries and Livestock Agency (PTPHPP) realizes clinic for plant protection and health.


Head of the local PTPHP Ir Tuhalus in Paringin on Wednesday said, the plant health and protection clinic needs to be realized, because agriculture in Balangan susceptible to pests and diseases.

"The clinic later joined the Center for Animal Health (puskeswan) that we plan to be in the former abattoir in Batumandi Sub-district," he said.

Through this clinic, he said, farmers can consult regarding the protection and health of plants and animals, so they can minimize losses due to pests.

Meanwhile, abattoir (slaughterhouse) Batumandi has long been neglected, because the butchers were reluctant to carry out its activities there.

"Butchers were mostly in Paringin Kota village, Sub-district of Paringin and Lampihong, so abattoir (RPH) Batumandi considered too far, and butchers were reluctant to move in," said Tuhalus.

Not to be idle, he continued, eventually the PTPHPP Agencyand Balangan District Government decided to use it as the Center for Animal Health and Plant Protection and Health Clinic," he said.
