Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Acting Governor of South Kalimantan Tarmizi Abdul Karim urged people not to join the Gerakan Fajar Nusantara (Gafatar) because the purpose of the organization is not clear.
"We appealed South Kalimantan people not to join the Gafatar. Simply run the appropriate guidance of religious worship," he said in Banjarbaru Wednesday.
He said the Gafatar case pretty horrendous and it was very crowded in the media should be a warning for the public not to join.
He emphasized, people should investigate and find out what the purpose of recruiting members of the movement so as not to become a victim or a follower of the organization.
"Watchout and be careful what goals, you will know any organization or movement from the goal. So we urge every community should be thorough," he reminded.
He also asked people should be able to safeguard the environment from various organizations and movements that try to grow and develop in their neighborhoods.
"People should be concerned, and more responsive to see the emergence of an organization or movement to report to the relevant authorities in order to be implemented immediately," he said.
He said to have received information about the existence of Gafatar had grown in South Kalimantan though now the organization no longer exists.
Chairman of the Society Early Awareness Forum (FKDM) South Kalimantan Hatmansyah said Gafatar had emerged and grown in Banjarmasin and Banjarbaru.
"Gafatar already exist in the area of Kelayan Road, South Banjarmasin, and its headquarters known at Jalan HKSN, North Banjarmasin," he told reporters.
While in Banjarbaru it appeared at Jalan Angkasa, Landasan Ulin Village, but the office has been moved from that location.
"We encourage people to be vigilant and not to enter organization and movement with unclear objectives, let alone turned out to be illicit movement," he said.
