Karya Putra Pribumi enterprise (BUMDes) owned by Simpang Empat Sungai Baru Village, Jorong Sub-district, represented Tanah Laut to win the 2022 Contest of the South Kalimantan Best BUMDes, Tuesday (8/3).

One of members of assessment team of the contest Agus Hariadi said BUMDes has an important role in helping to improve the economy of rural communities.

“This assessment is to find out what extent the ability of BUMDes in developing and managing the potential of village economy which will later become the benchmark fo the success of villages to achieve progress,” he pointed out.

Meanwhile, Tanah Laut Regent HM Sukamta represented by Head of Manpower and Industry Office Masturi expressed his support to the South Kalimantan Community and Village Empowerment (DPMD) for organizing the contest of the best BUMDes in South Kalimantan.

"With this assessment, it is hoped that it will provide more positive values for BUMDes and villages to continue to develop towards independent villages," Masturi hoped.

He also said that the current position of BUMDes is stronger. Previously it was only as a village business entity, now it is strengthened by legal entity ownership, thus it has a greater opportunity to compete to improve the regional economy.

Karya Putra Pribumi BUMDes engages in waste transportation service, iron waste sales service, faba paving block and bricks business, as well as PDAM bill payment counter service.
