Chairman of Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) Syairi Mukhlis called the district's residents who have not been vaccinated yet to immediately get them considering the surge of the new COVID-19 variant of Omicron.
"For the people of Kotabaru who have not got vaccine jab yet to quickly get vaccinated following the schedule set by the Kotabaru Taske Force, Health Office, TNI and Polri," he said as reported on Thursday.
Chief of the Kotabaru COVID-19 Task Force Said Ahmad also appealed to the public not to travel outside the district, if not really necessary.
"Insya Allah (god Willing) if we are not going anywhere this COVID-19 will soon disappear," he emhasized.
Said Ahmad also appealed to the companies' management not to allow their employees to leave. If they have an interest it is enough through virtual in order to minimize the risk of infection of Omicron variant.
According to him, the tightening of health protocols and increasing of vigilance is necessary to deal with the spike of COVID-19 cases with the Omicron variant that occurred in Banjarmasin City.
