The Banjarbaru City Government won the first national award 2022 from the Ombusman of the Republic of Indonesia for the quality of its public service. 

The award certificate with the predicate of high compliance of public service standards was received by Deputy Mayor Wartono in Banjarmasin, Thursday. 

It was handed over by the Head of the South Kalimantan chapter of Ombudsman Hadi Rahman, who at the same time confirmed Banjarbaru to be in the green zone which indicating a very high level of compliance category.

"Public service is one of crucial issues that the government must provide through the apparatus according to the needs of the public and all downstream to transparancy and accountability," said deputy mayor.

Deputy Chaiman of the Indonesian Ombudsman Bobby Hamzar Rafinus said the assessment was carried out with the aim of improving and perfecting public service policies in order to prevent maladministration.

"The assessment is starting from the provincial government, districts, and cities. The target is accelerating compliance in fulfilling the standards of public service that require local government to provide services according to standards," he said.

In addition, continued Bobby who was present online, Ombudsman evaluates and supervices ministries, institutions, and regional government as mandated by Law No. 25 of 2009 concerning public services.

"The results of our assessment, the Banjarbaru City Government has succeeded in winning a very high complaince predicate or a green zone and we hope that the service provided will continue to be improved," he said.
