Tanah Laut government targets to vaccinate 38,063 chidren aged 6-11 and plans to complete all level of vaccination by the end of March 2022, said the district's Assistant for Economy and Development Akhmad Hairin.

“By the end of March, we target that all the recipient targets of public, elderly, and children, are completely vaccinated, both the first and the second dose vaccine,” said Akhmad Hairin when attending the coordination meeting to ready the implementation of child vaccination here on Tuesday (January 11, 2022).

According to him, after surpassing the set target of vaccination for the general age and elderly, Tanah Laut (Tala) will then perform a vaccination for children. 

"Child vaccination is planned to be launched simultaneously in every sub-district on Thursday (13/1)," he said. 

The target of children to be vaccinated in Tanah Laut, he said, is 38,063. 

Akhmad Hairin hopes after all the vaccination competed herd immunity will be built in the District of Tanah Laut.

Meanwhile, a pediarician from H Boejasin District Hospital I Putu Ardika said that the type of vaccine used is Coronavac/Sinovac with a dose of 0.5 ml per injection. 

Each child will receive two vaccine jabs, he said, with a four weeks interval between the first and the second injections.

He also said that currently only Sinovac vaccine has completed the research and testing stages for use in children.

“Currently the vaccine recommended b BPOM and the Indonesian Pediatrician Association for children aged 6-11 years is the Coronavac/Sinovac. Other type of Vaccines are still in the research and testing stage for use in chidren,” explained I Putu Ardika.

Also attending Commander of 1009/TLa District Military Command, Head of Tanah Laut Office of Religious Affairs Ministry, Head of Education and Culture Agency, Head of Communication and Informatics Agency, Head of Population Control, Family Planning, Women Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (DP2KBP3A).

Also present were Director H Boejasin Hospital, the Head Operation for Tanah Laut Police, Secretary of Health Agency, school supervisors for kindergartend, elementary schools, and junior high schools throughout Tanah Laut District.
