Central Hulu Sungai (HST) government together with the 1002/HST District Military Command (KOdim) and HST Police continue to make efforts to accelerate the achievement of the 70 percent vaccination target by the end of 2021.

The Sungai Buluh Puskesmas (Community Health Center) vaccination team escorted by Babinsa Koramil 1002-08/Labuan Amas Utara and Bhabinkamtibmas of Kasarangan Sector Police using a jukung boat cruising the river to Mantaas dan Rantau Bujur, the outmost villages that cannot be reached by two-wheeled vehicles, Friday (24/12).

"Mantaas and Rantau Bujur are the two outmost villages in HST that border with HSS District," said Babinsa Chief Sergeant (Serka) Saipul Fadillah.

He said the majority of the residents of Mantaas and Rantau Bujur live along the river. "We and the vaccinator team use a jukung to go the two villages with a distance of 60 to 90 minutes," he said.

"Although it is full of risk, this is a tangible manifestation of the dedication of TNI-Polri in the acceleration of vaccination," he said.

In addition to Mantaas and Rantau Bujur, Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas also provided assistance in Tabat Village and Kasarangan Village with health workers from Kasarangan Puskesmas.

"We also convey to the residents that this vaccination is to build herd immunity or communal immunity to anticipate the transmission of COVID-19 and Omicron virus that has begun to enter Indonesia," he said.
