Six out of the seven districts and city in Bangka Belitung Province reported no daily cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, the provincial COVID-19 response task force stated.
“Today, only one COVID-19 case was reported in Pangkalpinang City,” secretary of the provincial COVID-19 task force Mikron Antariksa remarked on Wednesday.
Antariksa attributed the zero count of daily fresh cases in the six districts to the local people’s improving awareness of adhering to health protocols.
With the addition of one case, the number of COVID-19 cases in the province rose to 52,345 as of Wednesday.
Meanwhile, two patients recovered from the infection on that day, taking the total recovery count to 50,858.
“With an increase in the number of recovering patients, the number of COVID-19 patients conducting self-isolation declined to 26,” he noted.
The 26 self-isolating patients comprised 13 in Pangkalpinang, six in Belitung, four in Bangka Barat, two in Bangka Selatan and one in Bangka Tengah.
