Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Thick smog that had blanketed Banjarbaru for the last two weeks has disappeared since the last two days.


"Fog missing since Wednesday and Thursday, when a few days before the whole Banjarbaru dark shrouded in smoke," said Nurdian, resident of Taruna Praja in Banjarbaru Friday.

He thanked god that the haze due to forest and bush fires that appears every morning is gone.

According to him, the concentration of the most severe smog occurred on Tuesday (15/9) when visibility was only about 50 meters and Wednesday (16/9) over 100 meters.

Other residents, Nurul, said the loss of smog since the last two days makes the morning routine activity smooth and uninterrupted by harmful smoke. She hoped the haze does not appear again so that everyday activities smoothly, especially mornings.

Earlier, head of Banjarbaru Health Agency Agus Widjaja said air quality in the category of hazardous due to surpass the Air Pollution Standard Index (ISPU).

He said the measurements from 8-9 September 2015 showed ISPU reach 376 PM categorized as dangerous and 9-10 September 2015 reached 366 PM.

Then on 10 to 11 September 2015, air quality was below 150 pm and categorized as unhealthy because of the haze is not concentrated than before.

"By ISPU, air quality declared healthy at 0-50, mild at 50-100 and unhealthy at 100-150 then 150-200 very unhealthy and over 200 hazardous," he said.
