A total of 28 libraries in Kotabaru under the auspices of the Archive and Library Agency received accreditation certificates from the National Library in 2021 through portfolio and relaxation channels.
Regional Secretary H. Said Akhmad appreciated the 28 libraries which have succeeded in obtaining accreditation from the National Library.
"Congratulation to the 28 libraries that have received accreditation, carry on developing the libraries to increase interest in reading so that our society becomes a great human being," he said, reported Friday.
Said Akhmad pointed out that the library is not a new thing. With so many libraries can make humans great.
"Libraries make people great, not to make us stupid. Every village must have a library, every village fund must set aside for books, the purpose is to educate the nation," he noted in a press release.
Meanwhile, Head of Kotabaru Archive and Library Agency Gusti Syahruddin said that the library accreditation certificate obtained was the legalization of official recognition from the central government through the National Library.
"We should be proud as many as 28 libraries in Kotabaru have received accreditation, which means that these libraries have met the National Library standards," he said.
He expounded that the coaching program to get this accreditation is carried out every year.
"Hopefully today's activity can motivate other libraries, who have not received accreditation, to get it immediately," he hoped.
Also attending was the director of Kotabaru Polytechnic, school principals, and library staff of state universities, high schools, secondary schools, and villages.
