Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of Bank Indonesia Representative of South Kalimantan Harymurthy Gunawan said the central government will provide a special stimulus for Kalimantan and Sumatra to restore the economic conditions that affected by strengthening of US dollar.


In the discussion of the economic growth with journalists and students on Monday in Banjarmasin, Hary said the two big island were experiencing an economic slowdown that affected by limited improvement in export performance.

For Sumatra, the economic slowdown related to the low commodity prices that result in lower household consumption. While the Kalimantan economy is influenced by the performance of coal exports are still limited and the limited absorption of local fiscal expenditure.

"Against a slowdown in economic growth in the two areas, the central government held a meeting in Balikpapan to Kalimantan and in Palembang for Sumatra," he said.

At a meeting attended by some of the relevant minister, governor, Bank Indonesia officials, and officials concerned, he said, the government wanted to dig into things that can be done by the central government to encourage and help the economic growth of both regions.

"The Kalimantan economy is highly dependent on central, particularly to immediately pour various development policies," he said.

Especially for Kalimantan, he said, things delivered were the lack of infrastructure facilities for industrial development, such as roads, construction of factories and industrial areas such as in Tanah Bumbu and others. In addition, electricity and other sources of energy sufficiency into separate issue which has yet to be resolved.

Under these conditions, he added, causing inhibition of investment in this area, in addition to several other obstacles.
