The Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) asked all village heads to oversee the use of social assistance (bansos) so as not to be misused.

"To help overcome the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, especially in the economy, the government has disbursed funds in many programs. One of which is social assistance for low-income community," said a member of Commission II of Kotabaru DPRD Awaludin here on Monday.

The bansos, which began to be disbursed for three months, were to help business actors to recover, and the community fulfill their daily needs.

"In order that the recipients can make a maximum use of the bansos it is necessary to assist them to manage the fund," he said.

Do not let the fund be spent on less important items, such as clothes, cellphones, recreation or wasted on things that are less useful.

It was the village head who has provided data on the names of the prospective recipients for bansos, and knew the condition of their citizens who are eligible or not.

According to him, the village head is also responsible to advance his community, from the underprivileged to the privileged.

In addition to bansos, Awaludin hopes that the government also opens a program of labor-intensive activities in villages, either through the district budget or from the central government fund.
