Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan Antaranews) - The South Kalimantan DPRD's Special Committee on Employment will check foreign workers who work for companies in the province.


Chairman of the Special Committee Yazidie Fauzi said the plan check to the field against foreign labor force will be this August, without giving a date or time certainty.

"Is it a sudden inspection. So if notified first, then it is not a sudden inspection, but regular working visits to companies," he continued.

Before the inspection, the Special Committee will consult with the South Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda), especially which regard to security and order of foreign workers.

In addition, legal protection for the Special Committee to the possibilities if any party feel disturbed and do something that is contrary to law.

"When we consulted some time ago, the police expressed their readiness to`backing up` Special Committee in carrying out its duties and functions," he said.

According to the former chairman of the South Kalimantan National Committee of Indonesian Youth (KNPI), the issue of employment in the province which now has a population of four million people is a serious problem that should be a common concern.

Especially for foreign workers, who need arrangement and control in order not to create problems for local labor. "Because job seekers are quite a lot," said Yazidie Fauzi.
