The village of traditional games, such as balogo, egrang, playing daku, asinan, and others, continues to grow in the City of Banjarmasin.
Sunday, September 26, 2021, "Akrab", another traditional game village, was inaugurated by Deputy Mayor H Arifin Noor on Jalan Antasan Kecil Barat, Pasar Lama Urban Village, Central Banjarmasin Sub-district.
Deputy Mayor appreciated that such a village continues to grow. Now there are 11 traditional game villages in the capital of South Kalimantan Province.
According to him, today's children are addicted to online games, which makes them don't or seldom play outside with their friends, they almost don't have intimacy.
The traditional play village is hoped to make them to frequently socialize with each other, be close, and especially preserving the heritage of their ancestors.
"Don't let our children not knowing the traditional games, don't know how to balogo, asinan, and egrang (stilts)," said Arifin Noor.
He appreciated the Indonesian Recreational Sports Committee (KORMI) branch of Banjarmasin for continuing to build traditional play villages.
"The city government is certainly supporting KORMI's efforts," he said.
Head of Banjarmasin KORMI Hj Uzlah said his party targeted 52 playing villages to be inaugurated this year.
