State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Minister Erick Thohir believes that the MSME Digital Market (PaDI) can serve as a medium for micro, small and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs) to step up their businesses.

Thohir noted that this event was a gateway for SOEs to recognize the variety of MSME products and supporting partners as well as broaden opportunities to avail choices, so that prices are good and the product quality is competitive.

"If SOEs can achieve profits, MSMEs and the people should not go bankrupt. They must also receive profits and then become prosperous," he stated.

The second phase of the MSME Digital Market virtual expo is aimed at achieving the cited goal. As of August 31, 2021, the total transactions between SOEs and MSMEs were valued at Rp 10.9 trillion (around US$765 billion), comprising 142 thousand transactions recorded with 10,100 MSMEs, thereby reflecting the strong collaboration between SOEs and MSMEs.

The MSME Digital Market 1 event held prior to this had garnered positive results, with 75 thousand transactions recorded within a week.

Thohir noted that with the culmination of this collaboration, the MSME spending transactions with SOEs from supporting partners were expected to occur in a sustainable manner.

"Moreover, partnering with MSMEs will increase the use of TKDN that has been pushed by the government. This will enter the SOE ecosystem, and of course, with quality standards that must be implemented together," he stated.

The minister lauded the MSMEs that partook in the MSME Digital Market virtual exhibition.

In the first batch of February 2021, the MSME Digital Market exhibition was attended by 244 MSMEs assisted by supporting partners, while in batch two, there were 295 MSMEs assisted by mentor partners.

"By joining the MSME Digital Market virtual expo, you become an important part of the MSME Digital Market family that houses 10,100 MSMEs. We will try to give the best to MSMEs to get easy financing, payment certainty, market access, and sustainable development," he remarked.

On Monday, the MSME Digital Market will also launch the latest services as a commitment to streamlining services from SOEs to MSMEs.

The demand for entering the digital world will drive MSMEs to continue to transform and adapt, thereby fostering strong independence.

SOEs will faithfully accompany MSMEs, so that they are ready to face evolving situations and develop new habits.

"With this collaboration, we will strengthen MSMEs, as the backbone of the Indonesian economy. I also want to ensure that SOEs and MSMEs can continue to work together and become pillars of the Indonesian economy to achieve a tough Indonesia, growing Indonesia," Thohir added.
