Adaro Group again provided support for health facilities in an effort to accelerate the handling of COVID-19 patients in East Barito District, Central Kalimantan.
Some 15 oxygen concentrators were handed over by Adaro Indonesia's CSR Project SPV Area 1 Heriyanto Andilolo to Deputy Regent of East Barito Habib Said Abdulah Saleh to be distributed to the hospitals and other health facilities.
"Adaro wants to administer its support to the government of Barito Timur in accelerating the handling of COVID-19," said Heriyanto, Tuesday (August 31, 2021).
This humanitarian activity was part of the “Adaro Berjuang Untuk Indonesia” program, where Adaro Group donated 1,000 oxygen concentrators worth Rp12.6 billion to hospitals and clinics spread across several regions in Indonesia.
Chairperson of Adaro Bangun Negeri Foundation Okty Damayanti said that the oxygen concentrator aid will further complement the available facilities in the hospitals and other health facilities in handling COVID-19 patients who need oxygen.
"This tool will be very useful, especially in areas that are far from oxygen suppliers," said Okty.
Adaro, who collaborated with Satriabudi Dharma Setia Foundation (YSDS), assured that the oxygen concentrator meets the criteria of ease handling of patients, which is easy to move and transport to the patient's location, no complicated handling, and no refill required.
Of the 1,000 oxygen concentrators provided, 300 of them were distributed to 19 hospitals and 10 Adaro Clinics in South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, and South Sumatra.
The distribution of 300 oxygen consentrators is carried out in coordination with subsidiaries in South and Central Kalimantan (Adaro Indonesia, Sapta Indra Sejati, Balangan Coal, Adaro logistics, Makmur Sejahtera Wisesa, Tanjung Power Indonesia, dan Adaro Metcoal Companies).
Deputy Regent of Barito Timur Habib Said Abdul Saleh expressed his appreciation for this humanitarian assistance and hoped that it would motivate other parties to support local government efforts in accelerating COVID-19 handling.
