The Banjarmasin Naval Base (Lanal) has carried out COVID-19 vaccination for 8,933 maritime communities in South Kalimantan.

"We continue to help accelerate vaccination in order to achieve communal immunity, especially the main target for coastal communities and maritime sector," said Commander of Banjarmasin Naval Base Marine Colonel (P) Herbiyantoko, M.Tr. Hanla, Wednesday.

According to him, all elements of the nation must now fight to end the pandemic. One of the ways is through vaccination, so we can do activities in a new order of life.

"Don't hesitate and don't be afraid of being injected, vaccines are safe and halal. The benefits in the body to maintain immunity so we are not easily infected with COVID-19," he said.

At the last vaccination today at the Banjarmasin Naval Base Command Headquarters, the second dose of vaccine was administered to 176 recipients after the first dose at the Trisakti Navy Post on July 17, 2021.

The residents who received the vaccine came from the coastal areas of Banjarmasin City and Banjar District, especially those who live on the banks of Martapura River and Barito River with the majority were fishermen and mixed traders.

Tow of the recipients, Kosim and Winda, said they were happy to have completed the second dose of vaccine.

"We thank the Commander of Banjarmasin Naval Base for providing the vaccine for free. Hopefully, we are healthy and avoid the COVID-19 infection," they said.
