TNI AL (Navy) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) South Kalimantan chapter collaborated to carry out COVID-19 vaccination for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME or popularly known as UMKM) players in Banjarmasin.

"Alhamdulilah there were around 200 MSMEs who get the vaccine jab together with other communities," said Commander of Banjarmasin Naval Base Marine Colonel (P) Herbiyantoko here on Friday.

Banjarmasin Naval Base, he said, continues to target more people from various background to be vaccinated, so that the vaccination coverage run optimally according to the government's expectation.

The TNI AL's initial priority is to help vaccinate coastal communities and the maritime service industry according to its field of defense of the state at sea.

Previously, Banjarmasin Naval Base collaborated with the state port operator Pelindo and the Indonesian National Shipowners Association (INSA) to vaccinate employees, ship crews, and fishermen.

After the main target was accomplished, the Naval Base helped the vaccination of other communities, including university students.

"Now, almost every day the Banjarmasin Naval Base vaccinators teamwork to help vaccination of people. Come on, for those who have not been vaccinated, please come to places where vaccinations are held," said Herbi.

Chairman of Kadin Banjarmasin Nanda Febrian Pratama thanked Banjarmasin Naval Base for facilitating his members to be vaccinated, including MSMEs players.

"We will expand the vaccination for other members and we have that TNI will continue to support it for the success of government program to realize community immunity in the midst of a pandemic," he said.
