South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Regent H Achmad Fikry announced the district government's decision to extend the implementation of level 3 public activity restriction (PPKM).

He said that HSS remains at level 3 PPKM and there has been no rising in status, but the restriction which ended yesterday was decided to be extended.

“So today I will sign again the Regent's Instruction for the implementation of level 3 PPKM in HSS. If it turns out later that there is a provision stating that the PPKM is in level 4, the district government needs to adjust the items in the Regent's Instruction to level 4,” he said here, Monday (August 9, 2021).

He explained that he really hopes there will be no increase in the level of PPKM. But whatever the level, he said, the point is to discipline the public to always apply the COVID-19 health protocols to cut the spread of the outbreak.

Regarding the latest COVID-19 development in HSS, he confirmed that there was an increase as a consequence of the 3 T efforts, namely tracking, tracing, and treatment.

"Every time someone is confirmed positive, we will absolutely do tracking, tracing, and treatment to anyone who has a close contact," he said when responding questions from the media crew at the district government monthly meeting.

The participants of the coordination meeting were assistants, expert staff, and heads of working units who participated in the virtual meeting through video conference. While the heads of government agencies and all sub-districts head following from their respective working rooms or offices.
