Amuntai, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The North Hulu Sungai District Government seeks to maximize the land that became the location of the final waste disposal (landfill) because of the difficulty of finding new land.


Head of Markets, Health, and city Management (DPKT) Hasmi Rivai in Amuntai on Sunday said North Hulu Sungai (HSU) swamp dominated region which is approximately 89 percent make it hard to find strategic land.

So, he said, the local government should be keen to use the land available for waste management as well as to save local budgets.

"The area of ​​seven hectares in landfill sites has been utilized for the construction of offices, warehouses, wells, sewage treatment facilities and infrastructure, including two landfill pits," he said.

DPKT, said Hasmi, seeks to maximize Tabing Liring landfill in order to apply the method to the maximum sanitary landfill.
