At least 1,500 oxygen concentrators were dispatched from Shanghai to Jakarta on Tuesday to help Indonesia handle an alarming surge of COVID-19 infections.

The oxygen concentrators are part of a donation of 11 thousand oxygen concentrators made by the Temasek Foundation and 15 Indonesian and Singaporean companies.

The donation was symbolically presented to the Indonesian government at the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, in the presence of Indonesian Ambassador to China, Djauhari Oratmangun.

The Indonesian Health Ministry will distribute the oxygen concentrators to hospitals and other health facilities in the country.

The remaining oxygen concentrators will be sent to Jakarta every week.
