Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of the South Kalimantan Mines and Energy Agency Nuriyanto states, until now the province is still experiencing power deficit.


"To overcome the power deficit, the central government will build power plant with a capacity of 35 megawatts," said Nuriyanto here on Wednesday (6/5).

According to him, for the 35 MW power plant, the state power firm PLN only able to build 10 MW, while the remaining 25 MW to be handed over to private parties.

"For the time being we still rely on four power plants of PLTU Asam-Asam, Tanah Laut," he explained.

If two of the four steam fueled power plant in repair or overhaul, then rolling blackouts will be certain.

"We hope that with the addition of 35 MW electric power can overcome power deficit in South Kalimantan," he said.
