Acting Governor Safrizal instructed that community activities have to be reduced, especially in four red zones in the province, so as to push down the infection of COVID-19.

"There should be no crowd activities in red zones. Implement curfew. I ask provincial police chief and military commander to deploy their members to the field to oversee, and enforce the rules firmly for the safety of people," he said in Banjarmasin, Thursday.

Based on the daily report of micro-scale restriction of public activities (PPKM Mikro) and the risk zoning maps compiled by the South Kalimantan Police's Directorate of Community Development, there are four red zones in the neighborhood unit (RT) level in the District of Tanah Bumbu.

Then two RT orange zone in the City of Banjarmasin. The rest are 374 RT in yellow zones and 12,975 in green zones.

Safrizal also instructed Health Agency through the local public health centers (puskesmas) to carry out as many COVID-19 test as possible in red zones, as well as orange zones.

"Do a search for close-contacts to confirmed positive patients. The faster we can detect the transmission, the better the effort to depress the potential for a wider spread. Don't reduce the test to reduce the case, this is wrong," he pointed out.
