Acting Governor of South Kalimantan Dr Safrizal ZA said that eight districts in the province were at low risk of COVID-19 during the period of 7-13 June 2021.
According to Safrizal during a COVID-19 control coordination meeting in Banjarbaru Wednesday, the eight low-risk districts were Tanah Bumbu (Tanbu), Barito Kuala (Batola), Kotabaru, North Hulu Sungai (HSU), Central Hulu Sungai (HST), South Hulu Sungai (HSS), Tapin, dan Tabalong.
Meanwhile, five other areas are at moderate risk, namely Banjarmasin City, Banjarbaru City, Tanah Laut (Tala), Banjar, and Balangan districts.
At the coordination meeting which was also attended by Provincial Police Chief Insp. Gen. Rikwanto, Military Commander Brig.Gen. Firmansyah, DPRD Speaker Supian HK, Provincial Secretary Roy Rizali Anwar, acting Governor said that the government kept the efforts to reduce the COVID-19 infection to boost the local economic growth.
"What we are facing now is not only a decline in economic numbers but also a human disaster. I appreciate all parties for handling COVID-19, which until now there has been no turmoil," he said.

Several efforts were made, including the micro-scale of public activity restrictions (PPKM Mikro), health protocols campaign y distributing thousands of masks, providing rapid antigen test kits each 5 thousand for all regions in South Kalimantan, and carrying out vaccination.
He reminded, although there are many areas at low-risk, but the COVID-19 death rate in South Kalimantan is still above the national average.
Based on data from the Task Force for Acceleration, Control, and Handling of COVID-19 Wednesday evening, there were 57 additional cases which came from Tanah Laut 25, Banjarmasin 11, Kotabaru 8, Tanah Bumbu 5, Barito Kuala 3, HST 2, Banjarbaru 2, Banjar 1.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in South Kalimantan is now 35,376 with details of 33,734 recoveries or 95.36 percent, 593 or 1.68 percent being treated, and 1,049 people or 2.97 percent died.
