The South Kalimantan Forestry Agency has reopened the natural conservation and tourism area of the Sultan Adam Public Forest Park (Tahura SA) for visits after being closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.


Acting Governor Safrizal ZA, who made his first visit when the Tahura was opened on Friday said Sultan Adam Public Forest Park apart from a nature conservation area, its beauty can be used as a tourist spot.

"Not only for local (tourism), but also potentially as an attractive tourist destination nationally," he said.

He hopes that in the future the Tahura facility can be further improved both as conservation and fully utilized as a tourist destination in South Kalimantan.

He added that the location of the Tahura is also very easy and convenient to access, only about 30 minutes to 45 minutes from Syamsudin Noor International Airport.

According to Safrizal, the natural condition of the Tahura which is still harmoniously beautiful, with clean and cool air, and from a historical aspect has many historical heritage sites, is a recommendation as a mainstay tourist attraction in South Kalimantan, for local and foreign tourist.

The first day it was opened, Tahura was visited by acting Governor Safrizal ZA, who was accompanied by acting Head of Forestry Office Fathimatuzzahra. They were greeted by Head of the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of Tahura SA Ainun Jariah.

Fathimatuzzahra said that the opening of the Sultan Adam Public Forest Park has received recommendations from the provincial and Banjar district task force team.

Meanwhile, tourists who came on the first day were quite diverse. The management assigns many officers in the field to serve and supervise tourists to ensure they kept complying with health protocols.

Visitors are limited to 50 percent of the total maximum capacity each day. 50 percent capacity is equivalent to 500 visitors. Tahura SA is open from 08.00 to 18.00.

Tourists must register on D-1 before visiting.
