Three villages in Pulau Laut Timur Sub-district and its surroundings in Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan, swamped by floodwater to a height of one meter.

"The height of water vary, some as high as an adult thigh, other as high as a calf, but some are about one meter," said Head of Pulau Laut Timur Sub-district Tri Basuki Rahmad in Kotabaru, Wednesday.

Three villages were flooded, namely part of Kulipak Village, part of Berangas Village, and some part of Teluk Mesjid Village.

Not only residents' houses, but a number of public facilities were also inundated, such as a mosque, early childhood education (PAUD) building, official residence of sub-district head, the office of agriculture counseling, and Berangas Village office.

Temporary data on the houses of residents flooded in Kulipak Village about 20, Berangas Village 20-30, and Teluk Masjid Village 30.

There were no casualties in the flood, but residents' activities were disrupted by the floodwater starting Tuesday night.
