Paringin, S.Kalimantan, Mar 16 (Antara) - The administration of Balangan district, South Kalimantan province, received the National Urban Management Innovation Award (IMP) 2014 for providing the best services to the communities.
Minister of Interior Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo lauded the district administration here on Monday.
"Congratulations to the district head. I hope the administration can maintain this trend and create new innovations and inspire the other administrations to provide the best services to the communities," the minister affirmed.
He noted that the government constantly encourages all administrations to improve their urban services in accordance with the national standards.
"The government continually evaluates, assesses, and praises the administrations in a bid to help them meet the national urban service standards," Tjahjo remarked, adding that the IMP award was not just an accolade, but a step towards improving the people`s welfare.
Ruskariadi, the secretary of Balangan administration, stated that Balangan was successful in winning the award due to the role played by the communities in supporting the developmental policies and programs established by the administration.
