Kotabaru Regent H Sayed Jafar will fulfill his political promise to build a hospital in Sengayam, Pamukan Barat Sub-district, the border area of South and East Kalimantan.
"IDR45 billion is allocated to build the hospital," said Kotabaru Assistant for Economy and Development H. Akhmad Rivai, as reported on Friday.
Of IDR45 billion from the physical Special Allocation Fund (DAK) for the health sector in 2021, IDR30 billion will be used for the construction of the hospital, and IDR15 billion for the procurement of medical equipment.
The class D Pratama hospital will be built on 10 hectares of land, while the minimum requirement is one hectare. The remaining land will be used to build supporting facilities.
The hospital in Sengayam will provide third-class care services for inpatient, outpatient, emergency care, as well as other supporting services to increase access for the public in order to ensure health service to individuals.
"This is in accordance with the Health Minister Regulation No. 24 of 2014 concerning class D Pratama hospital," said Rivai.
Meanwhile, the regent made a political promise to build a hospital on the border while campaigning for the 2020 regional election. The construction is carried out by PT Beringin Jaya Perkasa with seven months of working time.
