Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Investors from Jakarta, PT Brantas Energy, will build the Mini Hydro Power Plant (MHP) in Tabalong with the location in the Salikung village, Sub-district Muara Uya.


Representative of PT Brantas Energy, Masrul Rifani, here on Wednesday said Salikung River in Muara Uya has quite high potential water resources for mini-hydro power plant, thus providing electrical services for the local community.

"In the early stages of development we want input from the relevant authorities to complete the preparation of licensing, both the principle of local government permission to use permit to the Ministry of Forestry," said Masrul when exposure in the presence of the Head of Development Planning Board (Bappeda) and

MHP to be built has a power generation capacity of 1 to 10 megawatts by using high water flow and optimum fall of Salikung River.

Power generation results will be connected directly to the transmission network of PLN 20 KV to 150 KV. "PLN electricity purchase from the MHP developer then sell to the public in accordance with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources," he added.

Head of Tabalong Planning Agency, Erwan, said the Salikung village is in areas difficult to reach because it is located in a protected forest, so there are many citizens who lack access to electricity. "We welcome the PT Brantas Energy plans to build mini hydro power plants," said Erwan.
