Banjarmasin Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) said that the tide of Martapura River is still high and has the potential to cause flooding, especially in riverbank areas.
"There are still areas are inundated when the tide rises, especially in the riverbanks," said Acting Head of BPBD Banjarmasin Budian Noor here Friday.
However, he said, the inundation that occurred from the tide was not too deep, so it was not too worrying.
"What is worrying is when the tide occurs at night accompanied by heavy rain, the inundation water will be higher," he said.
According to him, the inundation from flooding in the city is almost not left, especially in North and South Banjarmasin which experienced the worst flood last January.
"Such as in Simpang Limau, East Banjarmasin, the water recedes slowly, now there is no more puddle, except at the very end and it enters our neighbor Banjar District area," said Budian Noor.

Meanwhile, although the floods in the city have subsided, the government has not revoked the status of emergency response for floods and high tide.
Major floods in Banjarmasin occurred from January 14, 2021, causing more than 100 thousand residents affected, especially in three sub-districts, East, South, and North Banjarmasin. Tens of thousands of people had to flee to safer places.
