Martapura, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of the Class IIA Child's Penitentiary Martapura, Lenggono Budi, appealed five prisoners and detainees who fled immediately surrendered.


"We urge them to surrender and family who know of their existence can also help sensitize them to surrender," he said in Martapura on Saturday.

He said five occupants of prison located on Jalan Pintu Air Martapura escaped because of easily damage exile cell door lock they occupy.

Conditions of solitary confinement is not feasible because the door is only made of wood and is locked from the outside so easily destroyed and make its occupants easy to escape.

"Once out, they climbed the monitoring post and broke the windows, then exit down the prison walls as high as four meters," he said.

The five escaped at about 2:10 pm was not recorded by CCTV, even though the video recording device was active during the breakout of about 25 minutes.

"CCTV footage allegedly active but they run against the wall, so it was not recorded and were not known to the officer on duty that night," he said.

On the other hand, he said, the officer on guard only four of the seven officers who should keep the entire area of the prison environment.

"Prison officers manning incomplete and overall we were very short of personnel for the operation of each case there are at least 16 officers," he said.
