Paringin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Balangan administration installs tools to detect flooding in anticipation of floods in the region.
"Such a device to determine the high intensity of rain in Balangan," said Head of Irrigation Unit of Balangan Public Works Agency, Farid, in Paringin on Thursday.
He admitted in the last few days heavy rain continued to flush the area until quite alarming residents of Balangan, especially those living in prone to flooding areas.
Therefore, the district government made anticipation efforts to reduce the impact of flooding by installing flood detector.
Currently, there are five units of the early warning system or flood detector have been installed, either with a manual system and sensor system.
"We placed five detectors in prone to flooding areas, including subdistrict of Lampihong, Juai and Awayan," said Farid.
Information on river water that exceed the limit, added Farid, will be sent to the server and then forwarded to a loudspeaker or a warning siren. Additionally, a warning will be automatically sent to the cellphone in the form of short messages.
