Kotabaru has just received as many as 3,080 doses of Sinovac vaccines and scheduled to begin vaccination in February.

The COVID-19 vaccine developed by China's Sinovac Biotech was immediately brought to the Kotabaru Pharmacy Installation on Jalan Kenanga, Dirgahayu Village, North Pulau Laut Sub-district, and put in two boxes with security guard from the police and TNI.

"The 1,120 doses kept in the first box at a temperature of 2.7 degree and 1,960 doses in the second box with a temperature of 2.6 degree," said Acting Head of Kotabaru Health Agency Hj Ernawati after receiving the vaccine on Tuesday (Jan 26, 2021).

In accordance with the direction of Health Minister, vaccination in Kotabaru to be carried out in February.

"We will be waiting for the date information from the provincial Health Agency or the direction from the central. The vaccine has arrived in Kotabaru and will sooner be distributed to 28 puskesmas (community health center) from 22 sub-districts," she said.

Ernawati explained that the vaccination will prioritize the frontline, namely health workers, in accordance with the government direction.

"So we have 1,477 health workers who already have vaccine e-ticket from 1,809 data proposed to the Ministry. They will have two jabs (injections). If we have remainings we will return them to the provincial Health Agency," she said.

Meanwhile, Hj Ernawati appealed to the residents of Kotabaru to keep applying 3M, namely wearing mask, keep a physical distance, and washing hands.

"This vaccine is not a drug, but to build immunity in everyone. Remember my advice,3M," she said.
