The Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) Speaker Syairi Mukhlis stated that the district supports and is ready to implement the imposition of restriction on community activities (PPKM) as stated in the Minister of Home Affairs Instruction No. 1 of 2021.

"We (Kotabaru) support the implementation of PPKM as instructed by the central government through Minister of Home Affairs to accelerate the handling of COVID-19," said Syairi Mukhlis, Sunday.

He said that Kotabaru is now in an orange zone, which means that the COVID-19 pandemic is ongoing and the number of patients tends to increase.

After sloping down, the number of confirmed positive patients in Kotabaru has tended to increase in recent weeks and it is estimated as the second wave of COVID-19 transmission.

"For this reason, it is necessary to carry out evaluation and serious handling, among others by synergizing with the central's and provincial government's measures, namely the implementation of PPKM," said Syairi.
