The construction of Mataraman emergency bridge on Trans Kalimantan, to replace the bridge which was cut off at the oprit hit by the flood, was targeted for completion on Wednesday night.

Commander of 1006/Mtp Military Command Lt. Col. Arm. Siswo Budiarto on Wednesday said the work on the bridge was still being carried out to make the Trans Kalimantan road access could be passed.

"The target is three days to finish after President Jokowi's visit, so the work on the emergency bridge continues and is estimated on Wednesday night the road users can pass but it is limited," he said.

He said the limitation is applied, because the bridge which is built in a short time is only as an emergency, so that the passing vehicles, especially four-wheeled are limited, according to load and tonnage.

Meanwhile, security on the work of the bridge was carried out by Mataraman Police Chief Iptu Widodo Saputro with four personnel to ensure the smoothness of work and the construction to complete quickly.

"We are securing and closing the area around the bridge so that the work process is not disturbed because local residents want to see the bridge construction," said the police chief.

Since Monday (Jan 18, 2021) the installation of a steel base and connecting bolts began then on Tuesday the frame was pulled onto the bridge body.

The Trans Kalimantan connecting bridge in Banua Anyar Village, Mataraman Sub-district, was cut off Thursday (Jan 14, 2021) due to the collapse of oprit part after being hit by the flood.

The repair was carried out by installing emergency connecting steel so the road users can pass, but on Sunday (Jan 17, 2021) the bridge broke again before the arrival of President Joko Widodo.
