The District Government of Kotabaru distributed sanitary tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) to Islamic boarding schools (pesantren).

One of the recipients is Al Muslimin Mandin Islamic Boarding School in North Pulau Laut Sub-district. As many as 400 PPEs, 60 pieces of 100 ml hand sanitizer, vitamin C, 1.400 pieces cloth mask, 5 disinfectant tanks, and 5 disinfectant tablets had been handed over.

Head of Kotabaru National and Political Unity Office (Kesbangpol) H Adi Sutomo said this is part of the program of the Ministry of Home Affairs' Directorate-General of Politics and General Government through his office.

“The same assistance is distributed to other pesantrens, including in Kelumpang Hulu Sub-district, so that santri (students) and their teachers are avoided from coronavirus and to avoid the emergence of a new cluster from the environment of pesantren,” he said.

He also said that the purpose of distributing PPE was an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Kotabaru.

He hopes that Kotabaru to quickly free from the pandemic, then everyone can carry out activities as usual. For this reason, all people, including teachers and students, need to pay attention to the discipline of the health protocol with 3M, namely washing hands, wearing masks, and keep physical distance.

Meanwhile, the guardian of Al Muslimin Mandin KH Abu Bakar Sidiq was very grateful for the assistance from the Kotabaru Kesbangpol and prayed that the assistance to benefit students and the educational institution.
